First news from Thailand..

Wrestling at Copenhagen airport.

Making a mess At Bangkok airport

Here with Sergi another cyclist we met just off the plain.

Riding towards the city.

Many days has past since we arrived in Thailand and the pack is finally ready to move on.
Right at the airport, while queueing for the visa check, we met Sergi another cyclist from Spain and after a short chat about riding plans we decided to assemble the bikes and start riding towards the city together.
I noticed a mild temperature in the streets and first i just thought i was getting used to the tropical heat right away but really, i found out later in the night, drinking beers on a sidewalk of Banglampoo, that it was actually cold and i needed my hoodie!!!
I seriously never experienced that anywhere in Thailand in four years!!!!
It took us ages to get the bikes ready and get to the city, but that's just what it takes. I really enjoyed the ride, going through the suburbs, markets, small businesses lined along the sidewalk on a chaotic main street towards the most polluted city on heart.
We landed at 12 P.M., and arrived at the usual guest house at 7.30 P.M.
Another difference to my previous trips is that this time we are a group of five people travelling together for the first month. This has good and bad sides, the good, you rarely get bored, and the bad i often wake up with a hangover! It is kind of new for me because i was never really drinking a lot in here, normally i go for investing my money in food rather than alcohol.
When the group will split ill start a "bike, climbing" trip with Serjio, we don't have a real plan yet about where to go or what to do, we just know that from Chiang Mai we will attack the walls of "Crazy Horse Buttress" a mountain in Mae On district close to the city. The other established plan will be to bike back towards Bangkok by the supposedly crazy hills (let's see that, i really want to compare it with the mountains in Nan i did last year.) of Mae Hong Song-Mae Sot loop.

Traffic in Bangkok is crazy, this year even more since the city was blocked by demonstrations

My new favourite part of town "Dinso Rd", or the colonial district

Parrots hassling at the market

Fancy looking coffees and cake at a cafe in Chiang Mai.

What else to do in Chiang Mai rather than visiting temples?
